On some days all the insignificant details stand and sparkle, the unremarkable, become remarkably limned. Like the first time I got eyeglasses. I was thirteen and wandered around, transfixed, able to see each separate leaf on a tree. My world had changed --I could see. Your lovely observances here re-awakened forgotten feelings in me, Matt. Thank you
I wore glasses for 45 years, then had cataract surgery and now I don't need them. Still, nothing is ever quite as clear as putting on those very first glasses I got and all the world looked beautiful!
That’s a lovely thought. But I think I’m only allowed to see it because I’m a half-decent proofreader! I’m sure she will go on to write and publish things one day though. ❤️
your ability to see, and share what you see with us, in both words and images, is a gift…
To observe what is

Thank you, Sharron. That eyeglass sounds wonderful! I hope you might still have it.

My daughter has just written a beautiful essay for her English course about the first time she wore contact lenses. It’s very beautiful and moving.
Maybe you could post it for us as a guest author? I'd love to see it.

We are all our days
From first until last waking moments.
Another day in paradise.
Indeed, my friend.
