Gorgeous Matt. This process of having children slip slowly, then quickly into independence is SO paralysing isn’t it. Wanting them to fly away successfully but yet dreading it so deeply
It's so strange, and you blink and something else has changed and your youngest has suddenly grown an extra eight inches tall. My twin brother is at the other end of the scale – his son is just 18 months and it's the weirdest sensation to hear about his sleepless nights and panics about rashes and teething when you're watching your own slide into adulthood...
Thank you, Jo. It's the bit of parenting you can't quite get your head around when they are so young (and you are so tired!), whereas now there's a fear that you'll forget so much of those times. And then they sharpen a pencil...
Do you know, I had to try three different sharpeners to get the correct spiral for the photo! I could rely on the jumble of their shared stationery drawer for that at least. The 'Goldilocks' sharpener was a joy to use and I could have reduced the pencil to a very short stump quite happily!

This is us too at the moment… but you put it it into all the words of what we are feeling, beautifully written xx

So beautifully written. I still enjoy sharpening pencils like this
