As a teacher of photography one of the most moving portrait projects I ever saw, was a student who photographed his father’s house shortly after his death. The last used tea cup on the side, a dent still in the pillow, the choc ice wrapper (his father had one every day) knotted and placed in the well worn elbow dent of the arm chair … traces and those in-between spaces.

Berger also said that he believes all human desire is based around a longing to be somewhere – not necessarily in a geographical location, but sat in a chair, connected to another, standing in shade... to the side of, above, below... x
